Secure The Items That You Like Immediately
Another important factor that you should remember when you visit reclamation yards is that when you find something you like either buy it immediately or if you are unable to buy the item immediately check with the owner whether you will be able to secure the item at a deposit so that you can pick up the item a couple of days later or at your next visit. You will have to negotiate with the reclamation yard owner on how much deposit is required to secure the item and how long they will secure the item etc. Have all your questions answered before you leave the yard to avoid unnecessary confusions at a later stage.
It is important to secure the items you like immediately because the items that you find in the reclamation yards are most often items that are one of its kind and you may not be able find such an item elsewhere and some of them also have antique value. So do not miss the opportunity to own your favourite items which you find in the reclamation yards.
Be Prepared To Bargain
When you are shopping at reclamation yards, the prices are not rigid. There is always some room for negotiation and bargain. Remember, the reclamation yards owner gains nothing by having loads of items that do not sell in their yard. The faster they sell the items the better for them. So try to get the deal at the lowest price possible. If you make a couple of visits to reclamation yards you will learn fast how things work here. Do not pick the items blindly at the first quoted price. Bargaining is an art and you will certainly master this art visiting your local reclamation yards regularly.
